Carbon Steel/Mild Steel/GI/Special Alloy Products

Alloy grade products

Carbon steel is steel in which the main interstitial alloying constituent is carbon in the range of 0.12–2.0%.

Mild steel (steel containing a small percentage of carbon, strong and tough but not readily tempered), also known as plain-carbon steel, is now the most common form of steel because its price is relatively low while it provides material properties that are acceptable for many applications. Low-carbon steel contains approximately 0.05–0.25% carbon, making it malleable and ductile. Mild steel has a relatively low tensile strength, but it is cheap and easy to form; surface hardness can be increased through carburizing.

Galvanization, or galvanisation, (or galvanizing as it is most commonly called in that industry), is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, to prevent rusting. The most common method is hot-dip galvanizing, in which parts are submerged in a bath of molten zinc. Galvanizing protects in two ways:

Alloy steel is steel that is alloyed with a variety of elements in total amounts between 1.0% and 50% by weight to improve its mechanical properties. Alloy steels are broken down into two groups: low-alloy steels and high-alloy steels.

All steel items i.e. Forms, Structural Stainless Steel, Bars, Sheets, Pipes, Tubes, Fittings, Flanges, Fasteners and Chains are available in all grades and all standard sizes.

Pipes – Seamless, Welded, ERW, EFW

Steel Pipes are frequently used because it is durable and safe. Building materials underground may be susceptible to rotting and pests. Steel will not rot and is impervious to pests like termites. Steel also doesn’t need to be treated with preservatives, pesticides or glue, so it is safe to handle and work around. Since steel is non-combustible and makes it harder for fire to spread, it is good to use when building homes.

Tubes – Square, Hexagonal, Rectangular

Steel tubes are used in structural applications would most likely be seam welded while pipes are normally a seamless steel product. Some steel tubes are also used in the transport of fluids, even though they are seam welded. These include steel tubes for water pipes and welded tubes are commonly used in the agricultural industry for manufacturing pivots.
